The Power of LENS Neurofeedback in Therapy

If you are looking for the next step in your healing journey to help you get “unstuck” from thoughts, patterns, and/or actions that are no longer serving you, then it’s time to explore the power of LENS neurofeedback in therapy!

Join me as I delve into what LENS neurofeedback is, how it can serve you on your path to self-actualization, and how we here at Greenroom Therapy incorporate it into our services:

What is LENS Neurofeedback?

Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) is an EEG-based method of stimulating the brain to “reset” itself, improve performance, and help you break out of the gridlock of unhelpful thinking patterns.

LENS is non-invasive, painless, and FDA-approved. Gentle electrical currents will be emitted from the sensors that your therapist attaches to your head and earlobes – which are less powerful than even the electrical currents coming from your watch or your cellphone! Sessions take up to 30 minutes and clients usually notice an improvement in the dysfunctional patterns their brain has developed within only four sessions.

The method was developed in the early 1990s by Dr. Len Ochs, PhD, a California psychologist specializing in neuropathways. It was crafted as an alternative to medication and is frequently used alongside psychotherapy.

Who Does LENS Neurofeedback Benefit?

This type of treatment benefits those with the following:

●      ADHD and ADD

●      Addiction

●      Anxiety

●      Depression

●      Panic attacks

●      PTSD and postpartum depression

●      OCD

●      Sensory processing concerns

●      Insomnia

●      Headaches and migraines

●      And other neurological concerns

In fact, a controlled study found that subjects with a diagnosis of ADD, traumatic brain injury, or bipolar disorder showed that 90% reported better performance and higher levels of happiness after a LENS session.

LENS can also bolster performance optimization, motivation, and correct chronic fatigue. This is due to it suppressing specific brain waves that cause Central Nervous (CNS) issues: by lifting this suppression, the brain can then spend more time reordering itself and enhancing both its flexibility and function.

How LENS Neurofeedback Enhances Your Therapy Sessions

Here at Greenroom Therapy, each of our experts are trained to value your personal healing journey– whether that looks like recommending LENS neurofeedback as your main form of therapy or suggesting it be added alongside other forms.

The trained neurofeedback technicians here at Greenroom Therapy strive to deliver trauma-informed solutions to your primary concerns. We frequently pair LENS neurofeedback with lifestyle changes, psychotherapy, mindfulness and meditation to ensure that you are supported in every area of your life. LENS can help rewire your thinking patterns to serve you, not hold you back. We offer both in-person and online counseling services to ensure that your treatment is as flexible as you need it to be.
